The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has announced an increase in payments under the Benazir Kafalat Program, raising the quarterly amount from Rs10,500 to Rs13,500, starting in January 2025.
On Thursday, BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid stated that by the end of 2024, the number of families benefiting from the program will reach 10 million. Currently, Rs10,500 is being provided every quarter to women in need through the Kafalat Programme. From next year, this amount will be increased to Rs 13,500 per quarter.
The chairperson thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for increasing BISP’s budget for the current fiscal year, allowing the program to offer more support to vulnerable families.
While speaking at the BISP Zonal Office in Gilgit, Senator Rubina Khalid also announced plans to launch the Benazir Skill Training Program. This initiative will provide skill training to deserving women and their families, following both local and international standards. The aim is to help these beneficiaries access better employment opportunities.
Kafalat Payment System for Distribution of Rs 13500 Updated:
BISP also announced a 20% increase in its quarterly payment, in line with the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari and the Government of Pakistan. This increase in installments means that all eligible women will receive Rs 13500 from January 2025 through a new transparent banking system.
Beneficiaries will now be able to withdraw their Rs13,500 from any designated ATM using biometric verification (fingerprint). This new system will help eliminate long queues and delays, providing greater convenience and ease for recipients. The government will cover the extra costs to ensure beneficiaries receive the full payment without any deductions.
